Frugality at it's finest

I saw this ABC painting on the Pottery Barn website months ago, and  knew I had to have it. Well, that my child had to have it hanging in his room. It was too cute, and too perfect for what I invision his room to become, to pass up.

But like I'd actually pay $99 for something that I figured I could just recreate myself for a fraction of the price. Because I'm a painter and I'm known for my many artistic abilities. Have you seen my drawings on DrawSomething, enough said.

Really, I'm not a painter, and I will never pretend to be, nor will I ever pretend I'm artistic, because that talent merely passed me by. In fact, this is my first "painting" ever. I begged John to help me with it, he's far more talented in this area than I am, but he just looked at me and said, "I'm sure you'll do a great job." Which is funny considering he's seen me try to draw things, he knows it usually ends disastrously, with me begging him to fix what I've done. But ask me what he did to help me on this project, I will tell you he didn't come near those canvases with a paintbrush.

My mom paints, like amazingly well, my sisters used to, and they all  have beautiful paintings to prove it. I think I won a coloring contest once, but that's about as extensive as any artsy ability of mine goes. And it was a pure miracle I'm sure. Or maybe I was the only one who entered? Either way, the ironic thing is, I hated coloring when I was younger. Go figure!

Regardless, I now have my own version of an ABC painting to semi-put me into the same club as them. My own painting that cost me a whopping $10!

I agree with Ems. Your colors are better, and your images are sharper, too! And I like your little heart at the end of your "C". Very nice job!
